London parks put on their coloured coats this time of year. There’s a special vibrance about spring flowers. It’s as though they’re saying; wake up bees, get pollinating, summer’s round the corner.
The gardeners at the Embankment Gardens near Trafalgar Square get tulip mania and the beds are full of vividly coloured flowers, all vying for attention. They are the stars of the show. There’s never a moment when someone doesn’t have a camera or phone focused on their finery. Of course I’m no exception. And after drinking in the their colourful voluptuousness on camera it’s absolutely necessary to sit on a park bench and indulge the senses, just a little bit more, and watch the world go by.
