London is a jewel box full of galleries, museums and architectural wonders. You don’t have to go far to be amazed by the different centuries all vying for attention. Whether it’s Hawksmoor churches, buildings like the Guildhall, or modern upstarts such as the Gherkin and the Shard; you’ll be hard pressed to find such a buffet of treats elsewhere.

The diversity in London’s art and cultural scene is such that there’s something for everyone. So this is my take – a local Londoner’s view.

They say when you live in a place you take it for granted – that others extraodinary is your ordinary. That may be the case for some. But I think it makes you more selective, more likely to hunt out something that’s different. So in this section you’ll find places you will have heard of and a few more that you won’t have. And that’s the beauty of a local perspective.
