Walk a few steps in any direction in the city centre and you will find something that catches your eye. And when you look up you’ll often see a past that the shop fronts below don’t reveal. Each century has some eye catching sights. All of these pictures are taken within a short stroll around Holborn, Fleet Street and Piccadilly.
Getting there
WC1 and WC2 are generally considered the centre of London. These are served by several tube stations including Tottenham Court Road (Central line and Charing Cross branch of the Northern line), Oxford Circus (Central, Victoria and Bakerloo lines), Holborn (Piccadilly and Central lines), Covent Garden (Piccadilly line), Leicester Square (Northern and Piccadilly line), Bond Street, Piccadilly Circus (Piccadilly and Bakerloo lines) and Green Park (Piccadilly, Jubilee and Victoria lines).
